What should be the stages involved after a failed EICR is issued for a commercial premises?

Could you post the defect codes you used and the reasons why you used them?

That might give the forum some idea about how to advise on future action.

Do not forget;  a copy must be forwarded to the person ordering the work.

Your obligations might end there.  You may also need to supply the same to the

user.

Issue to the customer your report with the unsatisfactory  result & all non compliances with codes, pass on your invoice for the EICR, also give a quotation for the remedial works that may be required...............& that is your job done unless customer requests you to undertake the remedials.

I assume by failed you actually me unsatisfactory? The next stages would be down to the owner or responsible person on site as to what their maintenance and rectification priorities and budget are. Section F of the model EICR form in the regs gives the recommended next procedure where the overall assessment is consider to be unsatisfactory. Any immediate dangers (C1), would hopefully have been rectified or disconnected from service, dependant upon what agreements the person undertaking the work had with the client.
