Hi guys and gals.,

I have joined Elecsa and i have assessment on Tuesday morning with Gary parker.

I have all the books and paperwork sorted.

I have changed consumer unit at home to show him, i am very nervous.

Any help, tips, advice would be great.

Many thanks

naz

Yeah, do not worry! Make him a brew and you halfway there to passing!

When I has my Elecsa assessment it wasn't an assessment, it was a chat with an experienced spark about our lives and careers, with a few regs questions mixed in, I didnt get them all perfectly right but as long as you know where to find things in the regs book you'll be fine.

Then you will take him to your job, have another brew another chat with a couple of questions dotted in, prove you can test then you've passed. Really easy mate, just don't be nervous about it.

Is a cu change adequate for an assessment. When I did mine we had to show two major jobs finished at least an extension with new circuits and also one first fix. This was 4 years ago maybe things have changed. Good luck with your assessment though.

i think CU change is acceptabe. i have always used re-wires for my assessments, but if you dont have any large jobs like this, you can only show what you have

Hi Naz , I've said this 1/2 a dozen times on here now but this is how I see it. I'm with ELECSA myself, I've been a sparks since 1066 but like all the other guys ,still nervous at assessment time. Don't be !! They actually want you to join them ,and pay your money to them and not one of the others, so he won't be putting barriers in the way. ELECSA is the fastest growing scheme but they are very friendly, as long as you are competent and have all the paperwork, PL insurance, testers etc. you'll be fine.

Let us know how you got on.

Good luck. All will be ok. I think the only thing they are likely to really fail people on is safe isolation. As long as they are happy for that, the rest should be ok.

Ian.
