I have only ever installed the supply for gates so can't be of much help. Are you fitting them or just the 'lectrics .

The only bumph I can find is " Easi Gate, Automatic Gate Kits" .

If you are fitting them , note there are some regs I believe , regarding the gaps for a child's arm to be crushed and also a return system when resistance is encountered.

One thing that may be of interest for gate controls (just had Wago rep in for industrial controls etc) is a new Wago productThe Wago To_Pass Telecontrol module S

this is a small box 109x105x78mm that takes a sim card (payg or contract, o2, orange, voda etc) and can be set up so that texting it controls the digital outputs and it can also text out its digital inputs should they change

Wago rep has sold quite a few to operate gate controllers, you no longer need the remote key fob or swipe card just text with your mobile and the gate opens

List price he said was around

1. You would be sat at the gate stationary 2. I have a fob for my garage, im on my 5th now, 2 broken, 2 lost by the kids and missus and they aint easy to get and aint cheap !

3. change to a better provider

It was only an idea !!!
No good if you live in the middle of the countryside

FAAC was going to be my suggestion mate - fitted a few of `em now.

Just need to find out which kit; and where all the sensors / control box / actuators / strobes / etc. need to be located ;)

Three problems with the mobile phone idea.1-You would have to be stationary to make the text as it is illegal to use a mobile whilst driving.

2-Quicker to use fob because of 1 above

3- All well and good if you have a signal on your phone to send the text.
dont like the mobile idea as if your mobiles nicked burglar billy ho can walk straight into your driveway/yard

Got to disagree with you there Badger.

Your not going to store the contact name on your mobile as " open my security gates and break into my posh house!"

Whereas if you lost the fob, say outside your house then your definatley shafted!
