Howdy all, basically an electrical novice here...!

We had a power cut for around 5 minutes the other day. Next morning, our electric shower wouldnt turn on. There is no seperate chord switch for the shower, but  I did find a single RCD in the airing cupboard which could be for the shower.

I tried reseting the RCD but it just clicks off straight away. I replaced the 3Amp fuse in the RCD, but still flicks off.

I tried resetting it with no fuse, and the switch stayed on, but the shower still didn't work. (it is now def turned back off again with a fuse in).

I wanted to ask for any quick fix ideas on here before I have to fork out for a potential expensive electrician.

More questions welcome...

Many thanks!

Sounds like you've got a RCD spur feeding the shower which might have become faulty but probably an earth fault on the shower unit. You're going to need someone to test both to determine the fault.
