Is your "electrician" a member of one of the approved Part P schemes; NICEIC, ELECSA, NAPIT etc? I'm thinking not maybe? I wonder if you would have some recourse there? What actual electrical work has he done? Do you have certificates for it as in I suspect it is "notifiable works". Your best course may be to contact a member here to take a look and do a proper job. It WILL obviously cost you more in the long run etc.What do you think is the best way to approach the electrician about this? Get another local tradesman in for a 2nd opinion first? Should I pay someone else to fix the first electricians errors?Only paid the 1st electrician half so far...

Unless the OP takes the cover off it might not show much?How about a few snaps of the fuse board job he did just out of general interest??He was probably working in IT a few months ago
