Need to do your BOSIET (Offshore survival) can do this with RGIT or Falck Nutec then a medical CAPITA health centers do OPITO approved medicals.

But as a spark you need to do your Compex certificate to get offshore, without that you will be struggling.

Once you have that then its just a matter of sending out CV's and emailing and phoning the various companies.

Good afternoon chaps, sorry I didn't reply to this question earlier.Thanks again for your input Oilbedammned, I am grateful of your knowledge.

The interview was with Maersk so yes they do own the platforms, they had a model of their oil field in thier reception which looked pretty impressive.

They said I should hear within 14 days so I am hopeful, I could really do with this job but if it doesn't happen I will do my BOSIET in the new year and keep trying.

I am pretty determined to get offshore and have already done the medical.

Hardest thing is getting your first trip away, once you have that then your flying.

I have been on a few forums and that is what everyone seems to be saying, getting that illusive first trip is hard but once you have done one it gets much easier.

I will get there in the end, I got an email from them this morning saying they would let me know as soon as they have decided.
