Just a rough guide on siting and installing, my boss has dumped me with fitting emergency lighting to the yard and I know a little about it like all exits have to be illuminated and stairways and yeah I googled it and it's £106 for the full thing and that's not gonna happen haha

Cheers

Bobby

Here is a thought...

Go to your local wholesalers and get THEM to send a Rep from Their Suppliers to come up with a scheme for you. That way YOU are covered , they get the sale and almost everyone is happy. That is what i do, i also get them to sign the design and commission bits of the paperwork.you need photometric data and loads of other guff so it is just easier to farm the design out

Just saying

The positioning of any EM lights must also comply with the building Fire Risk Assessment, so as a Spark, the FRA is required, it is doubtful that you are competent to undertake a suitable and sufficient FRA TBH.

Fitting it comes pretty kuc under BS7671, with a few changes.

Your boss should be telling you where to put it, or giving you suitable and sufficient, information, training, instruction & supervision to ensure that the job is done correctly.

As you are it seems employed, there should not be any personal comebacks on you.

However, unless your boss can prove that you as a company and you personally are competent to undertake the design then the company insurance will be void, I seriously suspect.

I can tell you now that will never happen lol I've been told to put s light at every exit point and no where else, I auggested about flood lights for the deck and walkway of the boat and after some moaning he agreed, he even moaned about me wanting to put em lights in the office saying "a wasn't really wanting to go that far with this" my boss is a total useless gentlmans sausage, a nice guy but terrible to work with, he has no clue about any of this and I'm only going on the limited knowledge given by the college, we did a small bit on emergency lighting to include it in our design project but that's about it, and there will be no comeback on this for me, as he always reminds me the buck stops with him, thanks anyway guys, much appreciated :)
