Hi All,

New to this forum,

So currently I have a ev power point fed off the main DB via a 40amp rcd but company pays my service provider for my work vehicle charging.

So if I got a solar system is there any way I could separate the ev usage as I don't want to contribute any solar energy towards ev charging?

How does your company know what to pay your energy provider ?

It's metered via WiFi and app then they pay monthly direct to my provider

meter appears to be on the EV supply only. it wont know if the power is coming from your mains supply or PV

Plug your EV in at night and it won't be getting anything from the solar panels

You dont need to. If 50% of the power going to the EV came from your solar, all of the power used would still be metered and sent to your employer for them to pay. The net result is your electricity bill would be reduced by the same amount.

So they get your EV charging usage from the charge points app?? If so they won’t know where the electricity comes from
