I'm on there because some friends requested that I did so .

I was looking through it the other night ..............WTF ! is that all about !!!

Never in the field of human conflict have so many talked so much about so little.

I really don't get it !

A nephew says stuff like " Hey Dude , ow u r duin wazup y im clillin all day "

Lots of people "like this" apparently.

And some say we talk carp on here ........ dear God !!!

I don't get it. My wife is on it, she has a farm FFS next to her mates Farm, they send each other trees WTF!!

She put me on it so she could 'do a test' as some peeps could see her pics and she did not want them too.

1) if you don't want the entire web to have access [directly or indirectly] to your private stuff then DON'T put it on

I got requests fromm people I havn't seen or talked to for years....does that not tell them something?????

On Facebook a few weeks ago there was a legal problem with anyone who refered to certain footballer who plays for Melchester Rovers or something.

Made me wonder how it works on here , could we mention that certain person from that certain club .

Do the same laws apply on here regarding libel , slander, whatever ? In other words can you $lag off someone on here or do the same laws apply as they do for a national newspaper ?

Is this Forum the same legal entity as the Facebook thing or is it private or what?

Just wondering can I apply for a High Court Injunction Box to prevent Specs from calling me Sandra?

I am a regular farcebook user i admit,because Ive travelled around a lot over the yhaers and lived in a few different places Ive got people all over the place I like to stay in touch with and arsebook is great for that.

You wont find any "jst chillin blud innit" on my page tho

I'm glad to hear it Sprocket , I do a similar thing with email I 'spose , I still can't believe that an email to Australia is instant and free

But just to backtrack ...... . who the hell are all these people .

I was a bit alarmed to find that I was best friends with our ex neighbour's grand children , we do know them but then we are also best friends with their friends too.

They are all around 10 years old .........we are ...well not exactly in that age bracket :C

i have a facebook account but dont use it much. mostly use it to send my sister messages etc, bu thats about it. and i have a massive 19 friends... of which i probably only speak to a few of them

We are all individually accountable for any content that is put on the internet through whatever medium. The laws of libel and slander still exist in the virtual world. The internet was poorly regulated by the relative anonymity of the contributers but there are moves afoot to make people more accountable. If you go and post something libelous or slanderous on the forum you have broken the law and we as the forum have some responsibility as we are hosting the inflammatory material. For that reason we will edit or delete posts as we see fit if we believe that we are even straying into such areas. We would rather over do it than get members of the forum, and the forum itself, into trouble.

The biggest problem with the footballer story is that there were so many people talking about it they couldn't possibly go after everyone. A degree of safety in numbers. You may be aware that internet service providers now have the power to slow down your internet connection if you persist in downloading illegal data. They have to warn you in writing first.

So yes Evans Electric, you are just as accountable here.

Really, don't go there; if you think Facebook is inane, Twitter plunges new depths!!!

I set up a Twitter account, which I had for a total of 48 hours. After this, I really could do it no more.

You get something like 140 characters to submit a post - so the abbreviation becomes even more severe.

Also, Twitterers just seem like an odd bunch. But, I suppose that figures.

I think that the best description of Twitter that I have ever read came from Roger's Profanisaurous.

"Twitter. Noun. The small, highly sensitive piece of skin on the female anatomy between the T*** and the S******".
