Hi,

I need to quote for a fire alarm system in a block of flats. I just want to know if there is a way I can use 25mm plastic conduit instead of metal conduit.

Are there any metal saddles with a white coating that I could use.

I guess you'd need to check the FA regs for the grade of system you are to be installing, and ensure that the containment complies with this and the FRA along with any LA requirements?

Hi,

I can use the plastic conduit as long as its saddles won't fail in the event of a fire, the problem is if i were to us galvanised saddles it would look rubbish

What about black pvc pipe with black galv/enamel saddles? Sure they can still be bought as the college provided us with vile black pipe to work with as its cheaper

Just had a thought this morning.

What about "P clips"?

Not perfect, but one fixing, rubber aurround around the tube and galv'd steel so they won't rust, there are other suppliers, but they were easy to find on here:
