Can any tell is it possible to de rate a firebird 35kw condenser boilerhouse to a 26kw by reducing the nozzle size and the air of the riello to the 26kw specifications.
Condenser boilers don't work properly wen the are to high powered for the size of the house and rads.why would you want to? :C
True. That is grand for a standard boiler. But but a condenser need an output of 70deg and a return of 50 for it to start condensing. With an over powered boiler it's wil be constantly going off and on to often to reach efficient condensing point.who told you that?
thats like saying a 3l car doesnt work if you only drive at 60mph,,,,,
Yeah I was thinking that. Nozzle is reduced on the 26kw air intake is reduced. But out pressure stays the same according to the specs. Only difference in the boiler it self is the 26kw hold 19lt of water where as the 36kw is 24lt. So I think it's possible as long as I get it analysed afterwards. Thanks for the replies guy. It's just I'm getting a good deal off a friend. The Riello burner manual that should have come with the boiler will list all the nozzle sizes and settings for different outputs.
To change the power you will need the new size nozzle, and oil pressure gauge, and a flue gas analyser. I'm guessing you don't have those, so it's a job for an oil boiler specialst.
It's a none combi. I got a calculation for the rads nd cylinder for a 26kw. Just wondering should I buy the 36kw nd derate it. Cause I am saving a grand in buying new.boilers usually modulate their output down according to the demand, they sense the temperature of the returning water and adjust the rate accordingly. You haven't mentioned whether it is a combi boiler, some plumbers size combi boilers due to maximum hot water demand and not for the size of house or number of rads, knowing that the boiler will modulate down on heating.
The system might need balancing to obtain the 20degC temp differential.
As ProDave says, it is a specialist job to downrate the boiler, the pcb might also need changing.
I would speak with the installer and/or manufacturer, I don't know much about oil boilers, I work with natural gas ones. 1 grand is a lot of dosh though, euros or pounds. It's a none combi. Euros. I live on a small island. So I do the installation nd plumbing myself. But I will eventually need someone to analyse it. Just isn't as easy as picking up the Fone but I'm learningI would speak with the installer and/or manufacturer, I don't know much about oil boilers, I work with natural gas ones. 1 grand is a lot of dosh though, euros or pounds.
That might be true of gas boilers, but I have yet to see a modulating oil boiler.boilers usually modulate their output down according to the demand,
You could certainly try it with the new nozle. I believe there are some markings to get the air intake very approcimately right as a starting point. you might find in practice with the smaller nozzle the oil pressure increases without making any adjustments.Yeah I was thinking that. Well, that might explain why I couldn't find a minimum boiler output in the manual I found on the web ( http://www.heatandplumb.com/brochure_downloads/firebird/ENVIROMAX-MANUAL.pdf )That might be true of gas boilers, but I have yet to see a modulating oil boiler.
Yup the only king in Ireland. Since the riellos are the same. bar the setting nd nozzle. I think I will chance it nd achieve condensing sumhow 😊Well, that might explain why I couldn't find a minimum boiler output in the manual I found on the web ( http://www.heatandplumb.com/brochure_downloads/firebird/ENVIROMAX-MANUAL.pdf )
Also found Tory Island on the web, it has a King.
Cheers il try that.Make a note of the old air intake settings so you can always go back to the old settings and old nozzle if it doesn't work.
