Fitting a Hob

We have an electric double oven, we want to fit and electric Hob to replace the gas one. Is it just a case of upping the MCB to take the load.
Must stress i will not do the work.
 
No not necessarily, you need to make an assessment of the cable that is installed it may not be suitable for additional load.
Best have an electrician take a look.

An induction hob is more efficient than a gas hob it is quicker an uses less energy. How it equates as to whether it is cheaper is borderline I think. Look into it a bit deeper. We have an induction hob and think it is great and cheap to run because we have Solar pv and battery. They are dearer than a gas hob (can be a lot) but dead easy to keep clean.
 
My first induction job lasted 5 years then failed and had to be replaced. An additional cost over a gas hob which I have never had fail.
