Hello all,

Looked at a job to change 16. Flood lights covering a football pitch.

There is a 3p sub DB powering the lights now at the moment there is 8 posts each with 2 fitting.

A 2.5swa is then feed to each post from the DB.

At the post there is a box with a 2way consumer unit inside and 6a mcb for each light.

Can any one think of a better way to install with using the box and 2 way cu? I'm thinking of just replacing the old with new.

dont you mean metal halide?

whats installed there now?

your not going to get far with the info you have provided, considering you asked for one thing, then something else, and now it loks like its also back to the first thing

Lol yes silly phone

I'm just wondering what the best option is. And to get a few ideals from you all. ATM there is 4 500w haligons

its either 8 posts with 2 fittings, making a total of 16, or there is a total of 4 500w hooligons. make your mind up.

Huh no. ATM there are 4 500w with each post I will be replacing with 2 metal helide fitting at each post.

perfect example of an OP with half the info and we are meant to mind read,

Electroglow, I suggest you make another post below, telling us exactly what you have, cabling, lighting, and consumer units, distance, etc, then tell us what you propose to replace it with,

not half caked ideas and bits of ideas and info.

we can help you, but we cant design it for you cos we have no idea whats there.

As Steps said lets all get our crystal balls out and see what we can see.

Use proper cutouts for street lighting columns. Avalable from TOFCO, Lucy lighting and Charles en direct.

I tend to favour the Lucy Trojan units or the Charles en direct modular units.

To the post have the little access door with a wooden backing board to fix cut out too ?
