Fluorescents again

Thanks to all for the input on my earlier post regarding fluorescent lighting. One other thing - when working out demand in volt-amps for a circuit supplying fluorescent lighting, am I correct in assuming you multiply the rated lamp wattage by 1.8, or is this erring on the side of caution?

That is correct, however if you have the manufacturers data for the fitting you can use that instead and save
