Well,,, my day has not yet finished.... We're currently sat in Holyhead port waiting for a ferry to take us to Ireland so that we can visit my dying mother in law in hospital.... :(

Our ferry back to Blighty is booked for 2:15am tomorrow (Tuesday) morning so we won't get back home until maybe 8am... So that'll be 48hrs of being up except maybe for a couple of hours on the boat!!

Could be worse I suppose

We got home at 03:00 Sunday after a long/delayed ferry trip home from Jersey, not the most comfortable of seats to kip in so I feel for you.

Well... It got worse.....

While we were waiting in the port terminal she passed away, so we came back home to arrange for a longer stay. We're now booked on a ferry this evening with a return booked for Friday (will probably be changing this though)

Stenna have been very good in transferring our tickets without any charge

Its a long start as to why we booked a day trip return but the main reason was because that's what Mrs Noz originally wanted so who am I to argue

Cheers guys,,, currently in the middle of the Irish Sea.... Got just over another hour of the ferry and then about an hour by car.... Going to stay now till the weekend so I doubt that you'll see me until then

Well we've just stepped back onto the ferry home....

Its all been a bit of a blur to be honest with not much sleep for any of the family especially over the last 3 days when my mother in law was brought back to the house and then the turnout has been amazing, they reckon there were over 500 people at the church and the same if not more at the grave.... Lovely to see

Didn't go the first time....

How the he'll do they have the cheek to call it "Superfast X",,, it blinking takes 3 1/4 hours, the regular takes 3 1/2 hours and the now mothballed HSS only used to take 1 1/2 hours

Apart from that it isn't too bad a ship,, we've been on it (over and back) a couple of times now... Got to go over again in a month and then again for my brother in laws wedding in October

Is that Belfast? Noz if you are passing through the port during my working day (or outside it but not 2am ;) ) give me a shout and I'll come and say Hi
The only problem is though is that you don't go up to the upstairs lounge any more,,, straight though to a coach and straight onto the ship...

I will deffo give you a shout if I'm passing through during office hours though.. IIRC we ended up on the 20:30 going out and to be honest we weren't up for socialising...

I love Jersey. We were there first week of July. Not too keen on the new Condor Liberation, the old Express/Rapide were more comfortable and felt more stable. Also seated in 2's.

Did you have a good time?

Noz - sorry to hear about MIL. Hope you all OK?
