hey fellas , just a quickie , pricing for a job where the landlady wants smoke alarms putting in 5 existing pre 1990 properties . She wants each detector wired off that rooms light , not a problem as long as 300m away and that complies with building regs as grade D , catagory LD2 system . The issue im not sure about is if the existing lighting circuits are not rcd protected then am i required to include this or because its classed as an addition to an existing circuit im ok , until the kitchen gets involved then it becomes a special location and thats a different story , yes . If its non notifiable then do i need to up grade main earth and bonding or can i get away without needing too , thanks .
