Growatt charging from grid or solar

I have a SPH5000 and a 6.5kWh battery. Does anyone know what happens if I have set the system to charge from grid during a timeslot, but the sun is shining at the time? Can it take the solar, and add as much as is needed from grid to charge at full rate? Or does it charge at full rate from the grid? If so, what happens to the solar energy?

it will take from surplus solar first, and top up from grid.

It will charge to the maximum rate using solar and grid in that order. It's not something I've encountered, it's usually dark or dreadful weather when I'm taking grid import.
