More red tape for a simple 2 minute on site risk assesment.

Just shows how interpretation of the rules varies from one council to another. There was a story on one of the Milton Keynes free papers this week about how much scrap metal, shopping trolleys, bikes etc, had just been pulled out of the Grand Union Canal as part of a clean up operation.

Maybe they just used a big magnet so the workers didnt get hurt .

Workers may be injured collecting it from the street, just as much as the stream. so that idea is going no-where

It is a posh area, with a high percentage of Pensioners. (sveral are fitter than the youngsters).

The area is also know to contain "Born Moaners".

I have a stream down an embankment behind my house. When we first moved here there was litter everywhere and all sorts. I collected it from the stream, and the embankment and stored it all up the top. Phoned the council, boys came to collect - Expecting to have to go down the embankment etc, but were "Over the moon" that I had done all that for them (On my own).

I even told the Lady on the phone when I made arrangements for the council to come out and collect. (She obviously didn't make a note of it).

Note: The rubbish and scrap etc was there BEFORE I moved in. I Cleaned up OP's mess.
