nothing new, wasnt allowed in 16th either, and probably 15th & earlierI have had another electrician look at the electrical work he carried out and he has told me that due to the 17th edition regulations the 10A 1 Gang 1 Way Switch fitted 8cm away from my shower unit is illegal and should be a pull switch is this correct?

Light switch in living room - switch was moved from one side of the door to the other side however the wires have been left in the wall without a blanking box he just used a white clip thing to join two wires and run the wire to the other side of the door and then badly plastered over it so it is still exposed in places
He did the same in the dining room
Cables and wiring in landing airing cupboard wires are not covered exposed joining blocks its a mess
This cowboy is taking me to court for an unpaid final bill of just over 200 after ripping me of 8000 as the whole job is unfinished and badly done it’s a nightmare

im guessing the cables hasnt been installed in a safe zone, so that would be 522.6.101. depending on join, it may also need to be accessible (526.3). does the lighting circuit have RCD protection for the cables in the wall? if not, 522.6.102, 522.6.103
