it depends on what you want to do, if its more domestic stuff then you will need 7671.

the fast trac course will get you that but they teach you how to get through exams so you may struggle at first. best was is a 3yr course at local collage

Welcome to the forum Mark best route is college I did mine evenings. One thing people do not like text talk on here though if you use it you probably won't get many answers.

i work full time mate so carnt just give up work so would doing the the fast track thing be a good start for me then am not daff when it come to this i know the simpull stuff and what you meen text talk how els do you ask stuff lol

Hello Mark, welcome to the forum.

Text talk=like you text using a mobile,

Not everyone understands text talk so out of consideration for the older crew :^O please refrain from using it. :)

Generally a fast track route will cost a lot more than evening classes at college I think and you cannot guarantee you will find work at the end of it.

Sorry Bigbadwolf , I can't help with courses as I'm too old ;)

I honestly know nothing about todays courses , but there are others much younger than me who will be leaping in any minute with a plethora of advice.

It may be Lurchio who is a leading plethorite.

Welcome to the forum Mark. The best advice I can give to gain any sort of new employment or to impress prospective customers is to learn to write legible words. You have a strange method of "text-talk" that actually makes words longer and uses more characters. such as "train" doesn't need an "e" on the end of it? First impressions are a key point in many business ventures. Its always good to get the basics right, start off on a good position.

I'm not up on training courses. It's all about the practical experience anyway, doesn;t matter if it takes 12 Months or 5 weeks, if you don;t have any idea what to do with a screwdriver and pair of cutters the qualifications are completely meaningless.

Yorkshire FTW BTW. ;)

i get what your saying mate just need hlep on wher to start i know how to do basic things and not behind the door if you know what i meen as i work full time as a cheff and work splits shifts i realy want to do this just dont wher to start and every time i ask some one how to go about it i get diffent answers

every time i ask some one how to go about it i get diffent answers
Yeah, that's gonna happen a lot! My opinion is find work, then think about training, pointless doing it the other way round. There's electricians on every street corner with stacks of newly gained qualifications begging for work as they thought the fast track route was a good idea but it's gone a bit daft recently. Not that I'm trying to put you off, but unless you actually want to be an electrician, and because you like the work, not because you think electricians earn loads, then don;t bother.
