Joined mainly to seek help with our Growatt Solar PV + battery storage system which has developed a fault.
Background is 12 years service in Royal Signals working mainly with morse code (not much use in today's world!).
This was followed by a short period of 6 months working as a Coffee & Vending machine service engineer, then transferring into Computing.
I spent 9 years working as an IBM Customer Engineer dealing with all sorts of equipment from Punch & Verify machines (some still with valves), banking systems, cashpoints, retail tills, and mid-range computer systems. I then transferred into Software Technical Support where I spend a further 22 years at IBM before taking an early retirement.
Hobbies include repairing computers for friends & family, helping as an MVP on Acronis support forums (Backup & Recovery software), general DIY etc.
