Evening all,

ive got some work to do at a hotel, and the work requires a new feed to an outbuilding for an overflow kitchen.  there wanting to go down all electric supplies, ie no gas, so need to determine the actual load being used at present, was thinking of having a power analyser installed for a week or so to get a true measure of whats being used.  ive asked at the wholesalers who can hire one for me but does seem a little steep.  I understand there expensive but is there anyone/online store that hire these out at decent rate, maybe some one knows if megger mark does.

thanks in advance

Wayne

You should have tried Megger Mark, he gives forum members preferential deals and sterling service, no one else comes close, good luck with Rapid :slap

The Chauvin PL103 is nice for every logging, not really any good for power analysing though, but it is a nice bit of kit
I did not think it through. Doh! Sorry Megger Mark. This particular piece of kit was recommended on another forum. It does what it says on the tin and gives clear graphs that anyone can understand. Most of my load monitoring is for people with low electrical knowledge so it needs to be understandable to the 'man on the street' so to speak. It is also very reasonably priced compared to others in the market.

Maybe Megger Mark can help me with a thermal imagine camera for ppm reporting starting next financial year.

Ordered on the 7th of this month. Ordered with them because it stated ' in stock '. This was not the case and I am now expecting it next Tuesday.

Rapid - not so much.

thanks for that canoey. I'm in Lincoln, ill give him a shout tomorrow. whats the difference between the two?

I hear you. Most of our load monitoring is simple to see what capacity is available. Very basic so don't need an all singing all dancing power logger.

Interested on TI advice. It will be a bolt on for PPM inspection work where we go in a carry out a visual inspection of installations. Trying to offer extras as a sweetener.

Not bad at all and good enough for domestic stuff, resolution poor

http://isswww.co.uk/flir-c2-professional-compact-pocket-thermal-imaging-camera

Something that does all you would want if you do a lot of TI and need to do higher temperature with better resolution

http://isswww.co.uk/flir-t460-thermal-imaging-camera

(I have the 200 series - the 400 series is the newer model)

The other thing is to go on a course (fair do them - online and in a class room) as there are a lot of funny things with TI and you can misdiagnose things really really easily if you don't know what your doing, its not a case of buy a camera, take a pretty pic and if its red its a problem.....
That is fantastic advice. Thank you. No way would I buy your first example. That is Micky mouse. The £10k one is not commercially a good idea. I would be happy around the £1k mark.

I feel a right t**t not have got involved a bit sooner, thanks Canoe, great sales Job  :Salute

We offer sales or Hire of Loggers like the PEL103 or PQA like the Fluke 435 and everything in between, canoe is right it's about picking the right tester

for the job in hand.

Thermal Imaging cameras now come in every price bracket, there is a camera for any budget. Again Canoe has it right, try to push the limits to get the

better specified product, in this field you do get what you pay for, however there are now some nice units in and around the £1200.00 range.

Everyone is welcome to call us (me), email, Twitter, PM or contact me any other way anytime for advise or to buy, hire etc...
