Actually by default. I gained a 'craft apprenticeship' at Anglesey Aluminium, an RTZ smelter (now gone) The first year was spent at tech college getting the basics. After 2 weeks, filing bits of metal and learning how to use a hammer, I was informed I was to be an electrician (I had signed up as a mechanical fitter). I was horrified but reluctantly went along with it. That was 1980 and here we are..... what was that? that was your life mate....
