Don't you chaps take into account what you are fitting and for whom? They must have money to afford a light like that and to have a big enough lounge for it!

They should pay more

Not like swapping a pendant lampholder for a little old lady.........

Don't you think?

Personally, I would never work like that, Patch. Rich or poor - they get it done for the same rate. ;)

I'm kind with a bill if I know client can't afford it but needs my help.

Quick jobs etc.

Don't go out my way to charge the well-off more but I suppose they pay full whack and then there's a bit of money in the pot to be kind and not charge the old lady for worming her cat, or having a quick look.

Agreed!

it works the same when filling with fuel..

or going to the supermarket..

same rates for everyone! ;)

if person cannot afford it..

they don't purchase the goods or services! :)

It's a bit different when you have a potentially sick or injured animal in front of you. There are also legal and eithical issues related to animal suffering and welfare that would prevent me turning someone away even if I knew we'd never see the money!

That said we've taken a number of people to court for non-payment!

We have 1 client who pays

Although, I do believe our Patch was saying it "Tongue in cheek".

:D

You are in a slightly more specialised field (no pun intended)...living creatures heath & welfare are vastly different from an electrical installation.

There are not many genuine situations of life or death because a particular electrical accessory is not working!
Point taken :)

My outside light has stopped working..........................
