Is the 18th Edition coming?

Hi,

I have just read an old thread about the 18th edition(Sept 2009), it seems back then the general consensus was that it wasn't going to happen in 2011 as thought by the thread poster.

I am wondering if anyone has heard anything more on this subject as I have been told by 2 people that it will be with us in 2011. One was my Inspect and Test Instructor, the other was my Part P assessor. Aparently it will be The Big Green Book:slap

Anyone out there able to confirm or deny this, I believe that besides a couple of changes it is to try and make it easier to use.

Any comments?

7671:2008 first ammendment is due next year.

I would be very surprised there are usually quite a few amendments before a new version comes out.

Mmm,

Bizare the Assessor was pretty positive, he told me that he already has a copy???

Personally I will be glad if it doesn't change, It was the course that sucked my will to live more than any other! even the 2391 was preferable.

another 25 years of the 17th would be good ; -)

only thing he could have is the DPC of 2008 first ammendment (which is all over the net)

Have just found the DPC, and it is green!!

I must have got the wrong end of the stick whilst panicking about my first assesment.

But I'm happy now.

The DPC has been around for a few ages now, and yep, BS7671's next incarnation will be green.

There isnt a set date for the release, but i believe it may not be until 2012.

you mean they may actually take time to get it correct, rather than rushing out with it, then starting a new ammedment at the same time as its released?
