Have you thought about making it into 3 sections (inverted "T"),,, that'd give you loads of "wall space" for shelving etc????
My old van had a sliding door on both sides which wasted so much space. I should have done what a mate did, he racked one side out but reversed the shelves so they were accesable from outside against one sliding door with hooks and stuff for smaller bits against the inside back bit of that section (does that make sense ?).
Gone for similar - the Doblo had a frame across the body, the width of the open side doors, with two shelves and a shelf on top. I didn`t want to lose the Scudo`s length completely, so I`ve made 2 seperate units, 600mm deep, either side. Most boxed tools fit into the 4 shelves.
Then, looking from the back doors, the left end panel holds 4 1000mm SDS bits, and 6 450mm bits; while the right ones has the jacksaw, hacksaw, crowbars and hammers on it.
Working back toward the rear wheel arches, are two ply "boxes" on the floor, temporarily holding the reels of cable. (I didn`t have time to complete ALL the rackwork over the weekend!)
At the moment, only the right wheel arch is boxed - the side timbers are rising to the roof, and there`ll be shelves all the way up (550mm wide, 185mm deep - prob 3 or 4 shelves).
The right hand side will be the same; leaves space behind the arches, in the back corners, for the extension lead on one side; and the 110v transformer on the other side.
I had to finish transferring the stuff over rather quick; and don`t want a photo showing it in a mess
I`ll post them when its completed.
For info, materials used are 6mm WBP (8X4, 2off; 12mm shuttering ply(8X4, 2 off), and 2X1 PAR (so far - 14.3 linear metres)
