Hi

i have a job to do in a couple of weeks......

it is a three phase supply to two 5 pin 16A sockets via a rotary isolator.

i am out/ have not had much to with job pricing for commercial so would like to know which is the most cost effective....

1 4 core armoured, with a bit of tubing at the end where it is on show

2 tube all the way with singles

3 some sort of flex in 5 core with a bit of tubing at the end

the run is 20m most of it through a suspended ceiling.....

thanking you all in anticipation

alan

5 core YY.

I prefer not to use SWA sheath for earth where possible and also dragging SWA across some suspended ceilings can see them head for the floor.

SWA all the way, 4 core 2.5mm less than 2quid per meter.

That would be the cheapest in my opinion, and very quick to install. I suppose it depends on whats already up in the ceiling to fix it to.

Hi there

Has anybody had any experience of Megger 1502 (6 years old) tripping 6 and sometimes 10 amp RCBO's/MCB's when Z's testing. Mine nearly always does.

Any ideas? any way of preventing apart from replacing with 32 for testing.

I think most straightforward way is SWA 2.5 X 4 core armouring as earth . For 5 pin interlocked sockets I find that Gewiss are a reasonable price . Some makes and wholesalers are well OTT.

I`d prob use swa (4 core), IF there is adequate fixing for it - it cannot run across the suspended ceiling!

Otherwise, singles in 25 tube would be my alternate option.

I am with Carl on this, used them many times just for speed of instalation.

Or all round banding but that can be a bit fiddly sometimes.

I would use swa, one cable, quick installation, if you use the methods shown in Carls post, and as time is money, it works out cheaper.
