it's not that RCD sockets don't work, it's something to do with the manufacturers have failed to show they comply with 7671 - Sidey is the man to ask on that one.

so I thought I’d give the Niceic help desk a called and he said

correct there not in bs7671 therefore making them a departure from bs7671

if you want to use them then that’s up to you and it’s your responsibility for the safety of them

why why would I want to do something outside of my big blue book of rules

i just want to sleep at night

So does that prove the NICEIC haven't read GN8 too?

Who’s rules do you follow

Mine - the rule of common sense, based upon many years of work at the coal face.

I'm completely fed up with the petty meddling and inability of the people who write the rules to come up with changes that make sense, have been thought though etc.

This "issue" with BS 7288 items just does to show what a farce this all is now

Check out the hair dryer in that bath video on youtube

throws a hairdryer in the tub turned on and measure the amperage

something like 10 times thee amount that will kill you

He then dose it again via an rcd but this time he puts his arm in the tub aswell

“click” he says he did not feel a thing
