Just launched an eBay shop, anyone have any tips or advice?

I have just launched an ebay store for my business (chalon **********) in an attempt to increase our online presence and hopefully increase sales.

Does anyone have any tips with regards to this type of business?

Have you spoken to Admin? Ad hoc advertising posts (yours purports not to be, but........)

Maybe speak to some of the forum sponsors, see how they do things? Perhaps an ebay shop is ok as a sideline, but your own website may be better.

I`m afraid I`m a "hands-on" type of member (Mrs. KME`ll vouch for that :innocent ) :slap

Other members, who deal more with sales and supply, can probably advise better.

Ebay is fine for shifting some junk that you no longer want and it's good (at times) for picking up some bargains. What tends to happen are a lot of people advertise new items and cut prices so low that there is almost no margin in things, especially once fees are accounted for.

Best of luck, but you will be thought of as a spammer having that as a first post!

Yeah we currently have an online store but after seeing all the niche products available on ebay I figured we would give it a go. It has actually proved quite successful at shipping some clearance tools we wanted rid of. Also, ebay gets much more hits than our own online store could ever dream of getting so we did it mainly for the exposure.
