Just missed a call from....

Ok, here is a wierd 1. Just had a call on land line. Missed it as I was upstairs putting kids in bed. Did 1471 and the number was '00441234567890'. I kid you not. Done some googling and came up a blank. That is a cazy phone number.

Any ideas??

I've been told the calls are routed through skype hence the 0123456789 number, a way round cold call laws?

0044 is a alternative to the 0 at the start... but the rest of the number is unusual

i also got a call from an odd number the other week. ignored it. 1111. no idea who or what it was

cheers M107, Must be cold calling. I know of no one that has my landline number AND would know how to use skype. Ahh well, they'll ring back if its important.

OO44 is the telephone international code for UK, when dialing from overseas....

Doesn't have to be from overseas. Text messages come through as +447 not 07 on most mobiles.

Just trawled through Google and worked out this is a number for cheap international calls, so your call could have been from anyone and anywhere. Sometimes numbers using a pre-paid calling card will come through on this, sometimes its spammers using this to hide there real number.
