Hi all. I've received an email from Western power and they want the company who installed it? I fitted it myself and filled out the g98 accordingly. Am I going to get trouble from this? Its a 3.6kw system. Here's the email.

We have received the attached documents in the post this morning to our offices as Harrimans Lane, Lenton Lane Industrial Estate, Nottingham, NG7 2SD

These would normally be provided to us by the company completing the installation of the generating equipment and not the home owner.

Please could you provide me with the details of your installation company and who you have been dealing with there so that I may obtain the remainder of the documents we require from them.

They received the g98 and they attached it to the email. I've just sent an email saying the g98 is correct and no company was involved with the installation. Will keep you posted. 👍

Hhmm. That could be it. I only sent a Google image with all the electrical component locations. The inverter is on the compliance list so I thought they check that themselves. I might have a bit more work to do to make them happy. 😆 Cheers

Well , there you go, by your own replies, it's not correct.
That's a big part of the problem with any DIYer that does any sort of electrical DIY, they always say it's 100% correct and safe, even without any sort of proper test kit, or proper knowledge.

I think that’sa but harsh

ATM all and sundry are rushing out to buy solar and many are going ahead and installing themselves

This will never change

Harsh,? Maybe,?
But, is it true,?

harsh yes - there is nothing to stop people doing this and the more the vested interests try and make things more complicated and difficult, the more people ignore all the unnecessary ill thought out changes and stick 2 fingers up at the few.

what a f mess

It has been checked over by an electrician so safety isn't a concern in this case, but yes I have no experience whatsoever with the forms etc.

Times are tough and getting tougher. people will always try to save money where they can, it's always been the same.

One thing that pisses me off is all of the courses and schemes that are designed to ensure you are qualified. They're just a cash grab. Obviously get qualified, but there are too many 'clubs' which you have to join and pay a huge fee for pretty much nothing.

If you can afford solar, then you should be able to afford the installation costs.
