Hi I’m Kevin I’m a self builder in need of a wee bit help on some technical questions. I’m fitting a consumer box in my newly build annex with garage and I’m looking to fit this next to my garage door, Is there a distance that the board needs to be away from the door opening?

Application of common sense, it doesn’t want to impede opening mechanism, particularly remember if the consumer unit lid is open and someone activates door. Ideally you want it where it can be easily accessible. Last I remember there was regulation guidance on height applied to a Consumer unit, iirc approx 1500 to centre of unit ?
