yep, but been counting the pennies, and reckon I can stretch to one of these, if we get a bit off hopefully.

then will try build up my cordless gear around that, my kit is all a mismatch of cheap rubbish TBH, but has served its purpose at the time,

the ryobi was bought 6yr ago for

Cordless is always a pain in the bottom end cuz the tools normally have far more life in em that the batteries can give...

but when the Batts DO need replacing it is 99% always cheaper to by a full tool & battery rather than paying a nominal cost for just a Battery!

SOME batteries cost more than CAR batteries FFS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!headbangheadbangheadbang:red card

deffo a good buy,I dont use some of them that much, but they are there when needed,

wouldnt be without them.

MM, do you have any deal on this

will be another few weeks before I have the pennies for an SDS, :(

but its next on the list.

thanks.
Always a better deal to the Forum where possible, the best i can manage here Steptoe is

Depends what test kit you have whether they are worthwhile... I used a aphatek all in one a while back and that was a juggling act to get three probes on and hit go, my current megger loop tester however only has two leads (even on no-trip) and will autostart when it sees volatage, so dead easy to use probing the lamp holder

2 probes or 3,

I still dont fancy doing a Zs on a fancy metal fitting without using lightmates,

in fact it may well go against good working practice to try and put your probes into the lampholder without something like a lightmate.

you could always drop the fitting I suppose, but then you need a fourth hand to hold the fitting while you test, and if there is no earth at it you get a good dig possibly!
