doing a few little jobs at a house, looking for the bonding and at the stop cock what looks like a 10mm bond, further investigation the houes lights have no cpc the extention lights have but the last light has its cpc connected to 10mm leading to the incoming water. this is not bonded, but ther is a 6mm coming out of the cu but i dont know were it leads.

going to run 10 mm to the stopcock (pig of a job), so should i connect it to the same clamp as the lights 10mm, they aint going to go for a load more extra work.

they have some new class 1 lights they would like up, should refuse unless class 2 and all the lights and switches in the house are class 1

the zs on the lights is about 2.5

any thoughts thanks

If you're fitting the bonding fit a new clamp. Why would you want to piggy back onto another bodge?

As for the class 1 lights, I wouldn;t.

How old is this extension?

I refused some class 1 lights with no CPC last week. Did myself out of a job I know as the lights were expensive and they as much as told me they would find someone else to fit them!

the extention not that old i think, is a bodge, my thoughts were if i piggy back it would give the lights a link straight to the cu. also there is another cable near the clamp that runs to the shead, would connecting to that earth be an option? the advantage of the clamp is the safety do not remove lable

It's a bodge, I wouldn;t touch it other than to remove it after rewiring the lighting.

Connecting it to anything else is just as bodgey. You can connect it to whatever uyou want, but you know as well as I do it is wrong and if the customer doesn;t want to do it properly then just leave it alone.

will just stick in class 2 fittings, new clamp for my bond,

thanks for advise

You can fit class I lights to a circuit with no CPC under certain circumstances.
