Need to run a 10mm Main Bonding cable along the outside wall of a house then into kitchen wall to incoming gas..planning to use conduit on wall (not overly necessary in this situation but just looking to practise my conduit work! ;) ) but, it's running along virtually the same outside route as an existing PVC T&E 2.5mm cable currently pinned to outside wall.

Question is..can I run the bonding and the power cable (just feeding one double radial socket) within the same conduit, or is there a Reg against this, and if so I presume due to potential induction into the Bonding cable??

Any quick help much appreciated! :)

+1, no problem, IMHO it wouldn't be any different than running both cables through the same holes in joists. If the conduit is going to have any bends in it then I would recommend 25mm rather than 20 for ease of pulling the cables through.

Many thanks both, and for your thought re the bends..I've got both 20 and 25mm so no problem there but runs are short.

Cheers

the FTE shouldn't be on an exposed outdoor wall in the first place, so running it in conduit will certainly improve things. You might find the FTE has age hardened, so I would plan on replacing it with a new length.

You read my mind binky..as I crash down for the evening, job done and both running in conduit. The FTE is on a North facing passage protected from all elements and no signs of ageing, but put in conduit anyhow.

Many thanks:)

This trade seems obsessed with new abreviations ..............whats an earth wire called this week by the way ?

Must try to remember as well ....the N is now a L .
