We fitted 12 Philips HF fittings - the sort with an internal proxy/light sensor which dims according to ambient light. 1 out of 12 fittings didnt work, we examined it for obvious faults and reported to supplier. Philips are sending an engineer to look at it!

The fittings we installed were , 1st Fitzgerald then Crompton .I contacted Fitzgerald but couldn't get a comment from them regarding Tridonic.

We then had a job to move another printer into new premises and went with Dextra Lighting and against advice we installed standard Switchstart 5ft twin fittings and only ever changed a few starters .

And even more at the same job going strong !!

Have you checked the voltage at the fittings Is it within the specified voltage on the ballasts ive had this on a few occasions worth a try I suppose

I was banging on about how good Philips were. A couple of newish fittings failed 5' T5 tubes with dimmable ballast and DALI as well as proxy sensors. tried new Philips ballasts - still non work.... new Tridonics arrived today and went in no prob. Measured 10Khz on a good chocke and 170hz on a non working one with correct voltages on tube ends. 4 phillips ballasts will be presented to the engineer if he materialises!

Switch start fittings with high output LED tubes are the way to go. No ballasts to go wrong, low energy consumption and a long lamp life.
