I would use my 18v for the odd plywood sheet but any more than a couple, would use my 110v as its much quicker at ripping and the 18v gets discharged quickly. If you want to rip lots of ply or osb sheets then maybe a 36v would be better?

Under European consumer law the guarentee period is extended further than the twelve months as under UK legislation. Not a lot of people are aware and the Gov. have not made much effort to inform you. (Niether surprisingly have the retailers and manufacturers!!!!!) I am not sure but I think it is at least two years if not longer. I will research and report back.

In the meantime, if you need to return a battery, say after 15 months, insist on the right to a replacement under EU consumer law

Article 5 of the European Union Product Warranty Directive of 1999 says,

SteveT,I have also heard this myself, funnily enough from my neighbour, who has a law degree.... ;)
Did you know that I also have a degree in law (LLB Hons)...............and I am a sparky!!!

Did you actually use your law degree mate. My bros got a law degree but never used it. He went into banking instead.
No I never used it as such, but I was a Police Officer for 14 years. Don't miss it at all since I retired - left the Army in '89 - still miss that though!!

Im in red,and I may not be correct in all the points.

how many of you people that done degrees actually paid the full cost of them?

I'm not getting at you directly SteveT , just seems that so many people have taken my hard earned and wasted it, and NO, I dont think you have paid for your course, not unless you have forked out over 4 figures for it, maybe something like 40K would be appropriate for the education it is.
Point noted Steptoe, but mine cost the taxpayer nothing - as a mature student on a four year part time course as oppsed to a three year full time (odd - 4 years part ime or 3 full time!!!! - work that out) and i paid for mine including all study materials books etc out of my own pocket - several thousands with a mortgage, job etc, no loans.....................So, I can do whatever I like with it with a clear conscience.

no probs Steve and sidey, (and my apologises SteveT)

I suppose I was more thinking aloud,

all these kids with stupid and worthless bits of paper that they never use,

WTF does anyone need a degree in pop music for(for instance)?

for some its just another reason not to get a job for another couple of years and continue to sponge off the state.

Its not their fault. How can kids be expected to know what they want to do with their careers at such a young age with no life experience?

Yes i agree with ianmacd - If anyone fault it is the colleges and universities for offering courses with no real job opportunity. Kids are highly impressionable at a young age and a degree in pop music might sound very cool.

Maybe Im from a different era. Was drive into me from a young age to get a trade and you have something that you can carry for the rest of your life. Where are the parents that let this happen? Not meant personally, but you dont blame the college for bad parenting, people always want to blame someone else.

rant over.

I was always told that when a job was offered asking for those who hold a degree, in whatever field, the fact that you had a degree at all proved to the employer, your capabilities to learn and have a structured method in keeping important information.

Some degree's are suited to the employment field in which they are taken, others do not appear to have any bearing on the job that you do, but do show suitability over less educated, of similar experiance.

However I do disagree with some of the degree courses, they are just stupid, I will not name one, because some members on here may have one of them. Lets just say couch potatoes would probably find it easy to get one of them.
