No 2014 I'm affraid

I just think that may be 5-8 would be a good recommendation for 2.5mm t and e cable on a 16a mcb!

Helllo all. I was wondering what's the most amount of sockets u have ever put on a 2.5mm radial cct?

Now before u all say what going to be plugged In...

Treat it as not a kitchen cct just say a radial for bedrooms etc. I won't put on more than 5 just my opinion
Yes but u all must have ur own thoughts like I only put 10 sockets on a ring. That's my choice .....
If you fail to put sufficient, the customer will just plug in multi-block adapter leads etc. which is more hazardous. It is the floor area that the circuit supplies that is most critical not the number of socket outlets.

only 10 sockets on a ring?

I've put 20 sockets on a radial in a office room of a house, turned on every appliance at once and the circuit was still no where near overloaded

With some of the small houses I've tested, I sometimes wonder why a ring has been chosen as so many rings I come across would be just fine as a radial.

Example: Kitchen with two rings, one ring feeding socket to fridge and a second socket used for the microwave. Then the second ring feeding the rest.

The new OSG has the guidance on the number of

sockets per room size and type which I think may

have come from the Part 'P' guide. It only remains

to decide where they might be.

The only other consideration after that is the number

of joints that may become loose in time (hopefully not)

which will push up a live Zs read at the furthest point.

...Appendix H "Standard circuit arrangements for household and similar installations":

553.1.7 The number of socket-outlets provided should be such that all equipment can be supplied from an adjacent accessible socket-outlet, taking account of the length of flex normally fitted to portable appliances and luminaires.

And Table H2.1

Radial 30/32A 4mm - max 75 square metres served.

Radial 20A 2.5mm - max 50 square metres served.

So, to paraphrase what Doc H says - make sure it's sufficient for the intended use!

(I've never had cause to add more than half a dozen though, but that's purely down to the floor area and a consideration of what might be plugged in).

Guidance on the number of outlets per room has been in the on site guide for quite a while now, certainly 16th edition brown cover.

I might have missed that page Doc.

I looked at the new one for this.
