What is the photo on the wall?? Looks like a load of army tanks or something??

I'm almost sure its the Rhyl seafront  , a line of parked cars and pedestrians  on the right .   What the rest of the jumble on the desk I can't imagine .   I actually remember that glue pot though.

Remember the glue!! there used to be some gloop called "Gloy" and some stuff in a tube called "seccotine"

The stuff you got looks like Gloy..

Don't remember anything called Gloy TBH       Just checking my desk of about two years ago  but the glue seems to have gone .

Definitely a glue called 'GLOY'. predominately a paper and card adhesive used in schools a lot IIRC.

Hi Doc,

Yes, i had it because my mum was a primary school teacher and used to bring it home from school!! It was a clear sticky gum as i remember. [Being glue i suppose it would be sticky!!] As you say, it was used for paper and stuff by the kids!

Gloy.....had a rubber "teat" atop the bottle from memory and was a sort of light brown colour from memory.

Gloy Gum was still around when I was at school. We also had large squeezy bottles of what I now know was PVA, which was fascinating to spread over your fingers and then peel off.

Yes, i remember the "Gloy" was in a bottle with a red rubber teat/spreader attached..

My mum also used to bring home "powder paint" that you had to mix with water. Then in later years, a sort of ready mixed paint [Rowney??] in squeezy bottles [paint for the dispensing of] and clear sticky back plastic, great for attaching labels to parcels!! and also the white PVA glue....
