I fitted one of SBS Dave's amd3 boxes last week. I only used one of the rectangular knockout at the back for cable entry, and set the box on plastic trunking to bring it forward. I did have a bit of trouble knocking it out, but managed it. The edges weren't sharp, but used grommet strip anyway.

The holes for fixing the CU are upside-down-keyhole-shaped and the slot where the screw head sits is a bit short, so I used washers. I could imagine an upward knock would detach the CU. There was a large round knockout on the side close to the main switch, perfect for those new glands which take all 3 cables. That one knocked out easy.

Overall I was happy with it, and would use one again. Thanks Dave.

You are right about the knockouts, M107 and in fact  I drill out the 4 tabs on the back knockouts, before bashing them out.
Dave I do the same after the first board I used buckled a little when I gave it a good clout to knock out the back KO.

Yes I use washers.

Dave there is nothing wrong with your units...............they comply & fulfill the requirements.......job done.

I made a couple of those....really handy when I cannot find the 'ooops'

newcomers will read this and think.  "What the courgette are they on about?"

I am silly aren't I!

The FECKIT in the picture is no good as the 32mm Starrett uses the larger arbor! The Oops is the one.

got them fitted to some, but on others (smaller sizes) they dont work properly and get in the way more than they are useful. they are also cheaper elsewhere if look for a standard thrust bearing with the relevant size hole instead of q-max thrust race

keep them oiled and they work much better
