Well in mate, straight to the point:DI must admit i am more interested in what you think of the tools, look at this for instance, equivilent to Fluke T5 range.

However it reads up to 200a, Measures temp, has a built in Volt Detector and LED torch and comes in a case.

I am not trying to convince anyone here by the way, I really apreciate the feed back.

.
Looks a very useful gadget Mark. Any idea how much or is it too soon to know?

It just a tad to soon, i will have all the details by next week.

I don't think it's going to cheap though.

I had a nasty feeling you were going to say that! Is what you expect with decent quality gear I suppose.

Let me know when you have a price. I have been toying with a true RMS multimeter, but I haven't got silly money to spend on it.

Mark,

I would not bother FWIW, sorry, not my "cup of tea".

I prefer to have certain instruments for certain tasks.

MFT for installations testing & possibly fault finding.

DMM for fault finding on machinery.

Clamp meter for currnet measuring.

About to buy another low current clamp.

Analogue MM for fault finding.

The Milwakee jobby is not for me sorry.

Still interested in the Agilent kit, TSI kit, thermal cameras and DSO's though!

When i said it wont be cheap i didn't mean to say it would be out of reach, they want it to compare around the Fluke range.

As soon as i have the details i will give you a shout.

I must admit Mark I am a big fan of Milwaukee drills and know Chris the sales guy quite well and the demo's that he has shown me blow Dewalt and Makita out of the water, but as far as test equipment goes I would be very very sceptical until I had seen a proven track record.

I don't say this in a negative way against Milwaukee because I would have the same scepticism if Fluke and Megger started to produce battery operated drills. I am old fashioned in the sense that I believe companies should concentrate on their core competencies which in Milwaukee's case is Power Tools.

I have just purchased the 12v Milwaukee kit, impact driver, driver and cutter. I have used all three over the last two weeks. I was a little unsure but thought I would give them a good try out. To be honest even at 12v I find the tools very much up to the job, although I bought them my other lads have used them more than me and they are constantly asking to use them, I would say that proves how useful they are. The grip is larger than the Dewalts I have used but comfortable, the battery indicator is good and the recharge time is fast. On a scale of 1 to 10 I would give them a reserved 8, which if they last could easily go to 10 out of 10. Overall not a bad bit of kit.

My 18v drill and impact driver are excellent far better than the dewalt i had .I got them for the same price as makita set. I think milwaukee are better.

When I buy I usually see which make are being hired out at our local dealer which I think says alot.

I recently bought the milwaukee combi drill, impact driver, grinder and recip saw and i cant say a bad word about them. Actually my only complaint is that the impact driver eats bits as it is so powerfull! Couple of my chippy mates rave about the hitachi impacters but they were well impressed with mine. I didnt realise AEG own them (or vice versa?) otherwise i would have gone with them as they look exactly the same in the pics, just different colour. Was told by the guy in the shop that Dewalt aint what they use to be (he stocked dewalt as well) and avoid the screwfix deals as they have cheap internal parts.
