Hi guy's, I have been asked to modify a garage lighting circuit by a friend to include flourescent tubes, I havent seen the garage yet, but think it may well be protected by a 5 amp BS 3036 fuse, and fed by 1.0mm t+e cable. on a TN-S system.

I would like some advice on a suitable fuse type to cope with 6/8 Flouro's on the same circuit, would initial start up of the circuit cause high inrush currents? and if so should a BS 88 (m) fuse be used, cheers (MEERKAT) :)

thanks Andy, wasnt sure, I am in my third year at college and its stuff like this they should be teaching us, cheers once again (MEERKAT) ;)

ive not seen this job either but think it may well be 2.5 swa clipped direct and a tt system followed with no rcd protection and a bs88.

;)

not been on for nearly 5 years, but so much better than the rubbish thats on there now.
