Customer has asked me about replacing 28 ... yes 28

Mr16 12V 50W down lighters for alternatives, due to the intermittent connection between lamp and holder

The only MR16 lamps Ive seen as a possible better option are the aluminium backed ones..

Has anyone found a reliable lamp?

Other than that I'll rip out the tranys and fit GU10s throughout. :)

But your not have the same quality of light.

Don

very true

gu10 have a warm white 2800-3500k

mr16 give a slightly whiter light say 4000k

The main problem is the carbonated contacts... any ideas?

Customer is fed up of changing bulbs :(

main problem is the connector - on MR16 its just a cheap push fit, on GU10 its a much better connection. the MR16's are always burning out in the connector - does seem to have anything to do with insulation or no insulation.

other option would be to replace the MR16 holder, but in some lights (some FR types), you cant and would need to replace the fitting
