Does anyone have views on which of these bodies would best serve a domestic installer. Just passed the second part of the C&G 2382 and need to register with a 'competent person scheme'

Just been looking on internet and not sure which would best suit me.

Thanks

PGS

Well, I would guess that most people will 'big up' whichever scheme they are in. So, I'll start the ball rolling.

I'm with ELECSA. I am a big fan of their no-nonsense approach. Fees are reasonable, notification cost just

Personal preference, budget, entry qualifications, experience etc..

Me? I am happy with NICEIC and have no complaints.

I'm with the NICEIC

I initially joined them because I wanted the known brand (to general public), I think the cost is much the same and the assesors that I have are very nice guys who are not out to trip you up, just to make sure that you can do a good job safely. Whenever I've phoned the technical help line they are very helpfull

It's an 0870 number so it will cost you from a contract mobile, but if you ring the NICEIC switchboard on 01582531000 and then ask to be put through it should be included FOC

and yes,,, they do force you to insure your Part P work, but at

I am with BSI and happy with them. I think with a bit of research on the internet you should be able to find which one suits your business. The thing is even if you go with one and find it does not suit you can change the following year. I get letters from Elecsa and Napit touting for business but as said I am happy With BSI so atay with them.

That is a very good point Batty, it is not a once only chance never able to change again later option.

And I think there is an incentive to change as well after all the schemers want your money.
