Hi all:

Just joined the forum & it seems excellent, I have been in & around the trade for over 30 years now, but after an accident recently I gave up contracting to concentrate on Catering equipment repair. Hope the fact that i'm not actually still within the trade doesn't go against me:)

Hello Specialist01269, Welcome to the forum. Glad you think it is good and I don't think anything can go against you with 30years past experience. I do hope you accident wasn't too serious. Either way, catering equipment repair is probably more relevant than veterinary or plumbing skills on an electrician forum. But that said, we do have a broad skill base and anyone with some positive input and friendly banter will be more than welcome, I think Admin may have positive things to say about your location as well.

Hi Andy, whats the secret to cooking rice ? or do you only repair.
1 part rice,2 part water

bring to boil for 5 mins turn off put lid on saucepan until all water gone

works 4 me

there could be a better way ,,,, im all ears

just waiting for the smart answer.......place bag in microwave.......

Hi slipshod: Yes mate I do only repair, but my tip for cooking rice is as follows:

Find 1 very pretty Chinese girl, give her the ingredients & watch. It certainly cheers my day up ( Hope my missus never reads this) Hm methinks i'd better hide the meat cleaver.

Hello and welcome - do you know much about microwaves? Mine is playing silly buggers. The light doesn't come on and the turntable doesn't turn. :(

New microwave me thinks.

(if the rice goes sticky (slips) you've over cooked it. You can sometimes rescue it by pouring a kettle of boiling water through it to remove some starch. Alternatively drain it - whack it back in the pan with a pint of milk and call it a rice pudding ;) )
