New Immersion Heater

Swapped this element today after a call out, immersion heater tripping RCD. When I took the element out I was hardly surprised it was tripping.

Oh and the element was put in only about a year ago when the cylinder was changed

However they do it Roys, scale will not deposit

so easily on a hard water element. The permanent

hardness is not the problem, it is the temporary

hardness that does this. The reduction of the setting

on the stat. does have a beneficial effect.

 
Just out of interest, what is the physical difference between a hard water and soft water element?Cheers Steve
The material its made with standard elements are copper where as long life ones are made of incoloy.
