Hi,

Just would like to say this forum is damn helpful.

I'm a newbie domestic electrician, I just recently passed and am now ready to have my first assessment from Napit.

Infact, its tomorrow! Arrrrgh.

Really starting to panic about it, and the more I study and try prepare, the more i forget...Weird.

Anyone had a recent inspection from Napit that can give me any advice and calm my nerves?

Cheers All

Thanks for the wishes of good luck!

Hey Canoeboy, I am a Pompey supporter, yet moved, but still carrying the flag :)

The inspector will be here in a couple of hours....

Sweaty palm time!

Let us know how you get off. :)

:pray for a pass.

Hi Guys,

I Passed! yay!

Sorry for the late reply, but i couldn't get back onto the forum.. Was the site down?

So let me tell you how it went.

Had all my tea and biscuits ready, and all he wanted was a glass of water....

He was very professional and really made sure my paper work and company processing of invoices, quotes etc. Along with my complaints procedures and liability insurance and stuff where up to date.

We chatted about prices for jobs, first fixing, second fixing etc.

Spoke about certificates and how they differ from company to company.

Then came the questions.

1. Safe isolation

2. EP bonding

3. Explain how to and why do we take Ze, PFC readings

4. RCD trip times

5. Earthing arrangements and why we have them

6. Sup bonding, evening though its not required under th 17th,asked how you would sup bond a bathroom etc

7. And quite a bit more, but i've forgot... I'll add them once they come back

For testing

1. RCD

2. Zs readings

3. Proving a I can use the equiptment

4. few others.

All in all a good day.

They obviously judge the person, and if you come across as being honest and no bulls***ing and look like you know what your doing, then the less you need to prove.

Hope this is of some help to some of you.

Thanks
