The first location brings back many a occupied council house rewire memory, a job I wouldn't even entertain now and as mad as it sounds I'd of taken the option your mate did and gamble with the outside mess over spend even a minute inside

The second job looks very nice but the triangular under unit lights really do spoil it

LED  triangular jobbies ....supplied by the kitchen fitters .

We usually fit the slimline micro  fluorescents  but it was the customer's choice and theres no pelmets or upstands to the wall units ...hence the glimpse of a LED driver on the top .

What's with the two lights either side of the cooker hood that just seem to shine down on the top of the wall cabinets?

Heres a before and after  for that job , the builder I do electrics for is pretty good , which makes a change these days.

Well spotted that man !     At 1st fix we were told there were no cupboards each side of the hood and asked for the worktop to be lit .

Then someone adds the cupboards  but doesn't tell me so lights are stopping .   And they could only go in those positions to avoid a million pipes.
