Should someone contact the swedish embassy and inquire as to her whereabouts?? Perhaps one of us should be dispatched to Sweden to investigate. In the spirit of christmas selflessness, i do not mind if it has to be me!!!!

john..

No is the short answer, the inverters are 'Grid tied' ie the monitor for a live grid connection, if none is present they don't start up, and even when they do connect they wait for 3 minutes before doing so. read the G83 links paddker posted to answer the rest of your questions abour quality of output.

when we notify DNO they ask details like where the isolators are so they can isolate if necessary.

seeing as it is xmas i will ignore the rest of your ramblings in the spirit of peace on earth :slap :slap :slap :slap

ever watched DNO working 'live' - they seem quite keen on working like that.
Thanks for the concern. I am still alive. In fact, I'm sat at the airport near Stockholm with 4 hours until my flight departs and bored as fook!

I know bugger all about solar panels, but I do know that they are grid tied as binky said so I don't really worry about it. And most of my what I do is live work anyway, so I have faith in my rubber gloves :) And I never touch anything that my testlamp hasn't touched first. (Presume live until proven dead and all that).

And yes, a pink thong is absolutely essential for jointing :slap

well stockholm airport may be operating normally with 5ft of snow falling per hour, but the flight may be delayed / diverted her if a few snowflakes land at the airport here...

So far the flight looks like it's on time. But I have a numb arse, eaten too many toffifees and almost watched all of guardians of the galaxy which was meant to keep me entertained while i was flying... Save me!

The "only" way that a section of "failed" grid could stay "up"due to inverters is if the grid load in the isolated section exactly matched the output of the combined inverters.

Load too high, output crashes under load, inverters can't cope detect loss of grid, shut down.

Load too low, inverters pump in too much, shut down on over voltage.

However, it is doubtful that it would get this far.

I would suspect that DNO would link out in the link boxes after disconnection, so all lives earthed anyway.

Yes but I was responding to where apprentice 87 said "DEAD one minute live the next"
wasn't a dig at you Roys. Me and Apprentice have different views on CO2 causing global warming and the fact that whilst coal / gas / oil provides cheap energy, we can't just keep on burning fossil fuels and expect the planet to stay the same, without causing/ already caused, serious harm to the world we live in.
