I did a call out job last week, the actual job took 5 minutes but I was on site for half an hour the total bill?

I used to work in a factory half an hr away and got the time I clocked in to the time I clocked out at flat rate and then 15p a mile for the 46 mile round trip. Sometimes getting called out twice a night at weekends. Needless to say I didnt work there for long. Nowadays its

Not sure what others get, within the NHS (employed) engineers get 9.5% of their salary for being on call for 1 in every 3 weeks or more often, Its something like 7.5% for less often and by the time they are down to 1 in 6 its around 3%.

On top of that for each callout they will recieve Overtime from leaving their house until they return.

Well from an Electrical side of things in the old days of employment we were offered call outs evenings and weekends with a minimum 4 Hours pay, so if it took 5 minutes you got 4 Hours, if it took 5 Hours you got 5 Hours, this was at overtime rate of time + 1/2.

These days I work for the same rate 24/7

I got £10 per night for being on-call

£240 for the 8 jobs i got called out to

so in total i got £330 for the 9 nights
